Introducing The Lawson

Image

Last summer I was sitting on the beach with Leighton’s cousin and we were chatting about my new business Allie Mac.  She told me about a girl from Savannah that started sewing for children and totally sells out in minutes.  Well, I looked her up and she is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen.  Her business model, design and style had me so intrigued.  Her name is Amy and she is the designer behind brownie-goose.

She now sells her patterns here. I bought a few of her patterns even though I knew my Lawson would not wear them (she is a very opinionated dresser….i wonder where she got that trait?)  Besides Amy being such a talented designer, I loved her pattern instructions.  Y’all you want to just climb up all in the directions and have a cup of coffee and laugh.  I don’t know her, but I love her.

So, I fell in love with her Hattie and Lake design. I made Lawson a top.  And here she is:

Y’all, I knew I had to get in touch with Amy.  I contacted her and asked if she might like to make this into an adult pattern.  She said no, but go for it.  Little did I know how labor intensive pattern grading is.  Ahhhhhhhhhh.

So, I renamed this the Lawson.  I did change up some of the pattern.  And I have to say it turned out precious.  And it was one of my best sellers this past Wednesday!  Please check out the back of the Lawson:

If you sew for your own children, you have to check out Amy’s Etsy store and her Facebook page.  You will love.love.love. And please tell her that Allie Mac sent you:)

P.S.  My show went great this past Wednesday!  I am just now starting to recuperate and tonight is the Taylor Swift concert:)  Whoooohoooo.  I do want to let you know what is in the works.  There will be another show here in Columbia.  And possibly a show in Decatur, Alabama.  My hometown with my bestie:)  I will also be updating my Etsy store.  So, keep checking in with Allie Mac!

Last Open House & Give Away!

TODAY is the LAST Allie Mac Open House!

5820 Sylvan Drive

I am giving away a Bea Top.  Yes, I am:)  So, come on over.  For every $25 you spend your name goes into the jar.  Bring a friend or send a friend, your name goes in the jar.  Can’t come but want to order a gift certificate? Call me and I will put your name in the jar.  I will draw at the end of the day at 6 pm.

As I was sewing away yesterday I started thinking about what I could do special today.  I don’t know if I have ever told the story about why I picked the feather for my Allie Mac logo.  A few years ago I really struggled with anxiety.  Bad.  One day as I was running I started to have a panic attack.  And I looked up and there was the prettiest red bird I have ever seen.  Took my breath away.  Kept on running.  I felt peace.  Then I started seeing red birds ALL the time.  Usually right when I started to feel anxiety, I would see one.  Red birds make me think of Jesus.  And because this is the season we celebrate His birth, I want to give away a Bea top.  This one to be exact:)

I decided to draw 3 winners for the FREE scarf this week!

Miriam Jerome, Shannon Bygott & Lorien Owens

Come on over and pick out a new scarf!

Whew.  How did it get to be the week before Thanksgiving?  I was talking with a friend on Tuesday and she said something about Thanksgiving being next week.  I was like no, it is the next week.  She was like yes it is next week.  She was right.  I was wrong.  WAY wrong.  HA:)

My husband and I were able to get away to the mountains to celebrate our 13th anniversary.  It was GLORIOUS.  Refreshing.  And just what we needed.  I was able to start reading this awesome book.  Gather my thoughts and outline my vision for Allie Mac Designs.  I was also able to read some of this book by Tim Keller.  SO.GOOD.

I have come up with a plan to have 6 open houses before Christmas.  This will allow people in Columbia to come to my house and shop!  You can see where Allie Mac is created and it is kinda cray cray sometimes.  But, that is OK.  Because I am just “being who I am.”  The motto of Allie Mac is “be who you are.”  And sometimes it is crazy.  My life is far from perfect.  It is actually quite a mess but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  So.  If you would like to come you will need to email me at allison@alliemacdesign.com for my address.  I just don’t feel comfortable putting my address out there on the web.  Hope you understand:)  I promise you won’t be disappointed!  BECAUSE I have a few surprises:

  • Every $25 you spend you get your name put in a jar for a drawing for a FREE scarf.  So, if you spend $100 your name goes in 4 times:)
  • The drawing will take place at the end of the Open House.  *If you purchase something in between the open houses your name will be added to the next open house.

Now I will leave you with a few pictures:)

Thank y’all so much for supporting me over the past few months.  It has been a joy:)  Please feel free to share this with your friends or your husband.

Blessings,
